SECOND HOME HOLLYWOOD

Originally conceived as a new model for creative nomadic workspace in London, Second Home Hollywood shifts their model to maximize year-round outdoor living. Individual office pods for rent are immersed in a shared landscape program that promotes wandering, exploration and the cross pollination of ideas between tenants.
Designed in collaboration with the Madrid-based firm SelgasCano, each discrete and transparent pod is submerged in the landscape so that the interior work surfaces align with the heavily vegetated ground plane. The dense planting throughout the site provides privacy, cooling and shade.
The layered tree canopy overhead offers a spectacular view toward the sky and a filtered and dappled light condition to work within. The coloration of the planting transitions across the site to provides subtle wayfinding cues to tenants through zones of differentiated color.
